About the Role:
Join our team at Great Harvest Bread Co in Burke, VA, where we are seeking passionate Farmers Marketeers and bakers! If you love fresh bread and engaging with the community, this is the perfect opportunity for you to shine.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of artisan breads, sourdough and sweets daily.
- Engage with customers at local farmers' markets, providing free slices and product information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery and market setup.
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of products.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions and process sales efficiently.
- Promote seasonal products and special offers to increase sales.
- Participate in community events to enhance brand visibility and customer loyalty.
Requirements:
- Prior baking experience is a plus, but we are willing to train enthusiastic candidates.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends (required).
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
- Passion for baking and a love for fresh, wholesome ingredients.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy bags of flour, farmers market setup and other ingredients.
- Reliable transportation to and from farmers' markets (must have a valid drivers license).

Great Harvest Bread Co has been serving the Burke, Lorton, Herndon and Vienna, VA community since 1990, providing fresh, whole grain bread made from locally sourced ingredients. Our customers love our commitment to quality and flavor, while our employees enjoy a supportive and friendly work environment that fosters creativity and growth.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
